Perhaps you have already heard about the most awaited event of the year, the one that draws on the island of Ischia international actors and directors: the Ischia Global Film & Music Fest is about to start and celebrate its 15th edition in great style.
The secrets of success and longevity can be found in Ischia itself, primarily thanks to its relationship with the cinema: the island is not only a renowned place to shoot films but it is also a holiday venue for celebrities since the 50s. Does anyone remember Will Smith and his family on holiday in Lacco Ameno, last year?
But there is something more: the Ischia Global Festival actually selects the best films among recent releases and previews, focusing on quality first. And there are many themes to explore and discuss, topics of universal importance such as human rights, diversity and many more.
And last but not least, the strong synergy with the territory: warm hospitality and breathtaking landscapes in an island where the magic of the cinema and of the nature combine.
The Ischia Global Fest program 2017
The Ischia Global Fest program 2017 is so rich and full of wonderful names that you may not know where to start. Here are some tips: Sofia Coppola’s “The Beguiled” will open the 15th edition of the festival, while Roman Polanski’s “Based on a true story” will be closing it; between these two milestones there are many unmissable events: the projection of “To The Bone”, the Netflix drama by Marti Noxon which features Lily Collins and Keanu Reeves; the visit of Antonio Banderas, who will be in Ischia to attend the special screening of Ambi Group’s “Black Butterfly” and the one of another legend, Jean-Paul Gaultier, who will be honoured with the Ischia Global Fest Excellence Award.
